This is my last post on this thread. I think that UCSD and UCI were ridiculous in the way that they announced their results. I know for a fact that they are not schools that merit 60,000 plus applicants. It’s ridiculous. UCLA had 86,000 applicants and released the results all at the time they said they would in one day. That is professionalism and also a reflection of the school. I’m so glad I got accepted to UCLA, but UCSD and UCI had few applicants and released in waves. May be to make those who got accepted feel better or special so that they would turn down their admissions. I think it’s ridiculous. It’s not really an ego booster to get accepted to UCI or UCSD unless financial considerations are a motivating factor. Whatever, I’m done!!!

Got rejected to UCI as well, the part that hurts the most is the fact that they gave me false hope and then crushed it into thousands of pieces. Oh well guess I’ll be going to UCSB.

@RMiSLJ I’m in the same exact boat as you. I got accepted to UCR by the email that they sent way back in December, so I was really confident I would get into at least one or two more UC’s (other than Merced) but I got rejected everywhere. I’m gonna appeal just for the fun of it. I really wanted to go to UCI.

I wasn’t sure if getting the message about financial aid from UCI was a good thing. UCI gave me false hope…and still no decision. I didn’t know business administration was competitive at UCI. UGH.

Just got rejected as well. As you may have gathered if you saw my other posts, it was expected. What really sucks is that UCI is the only UC I applied to, so all the work I put into personal statements and my Nursing Supplemental application was for nothing basically. I really wish more than 2 UCs (the other being UCLA) offered nursing as a major. Hopefully the UC system will realize its not a “vocational” career, and start introducing it to more campuses. Nursing is steadily becoming more involved in the sciences and some schools are even beginning to consider it a STEM science now.

I have now received decisions from all the schools I applied to, UCI being the only one that rejected me. I was accepted as a prenursing major and Northern Arizona University, CSU Bakersfield, CSU Long Beach, and San Francisco State University. I will be accepting admission at San Francisco State University for Fall 2014 (Go Gators! Haha).

I has been great speaking with you all on this thread! Congrats to those accepted/waitlisted, my condolences to others rejected, and good luck to anyone still awaiting their decision.

P.S. To those a few pages back who were wondering what a rejected portal looks like, your portal goes blank except for the heading. The body has huge bold text at the top that reads “ADMISSION DECISION” then smaller text underneath it reads:
"Thank you for applying to the University of California, Irvine. After a thorough review of your application and supporting materials, we regret to inform you that we will be unable to offer you admission for the Application Term stated above.

Admissions officers thoroughly review each application and carefully balance many factors including grades, course work, test scores, honors and awards, work experience, community service, and leadership. If attending UC Irvine remains your ambition, you may establish your junior-level eligibility through an appropriate program of study at an accredited community college. Because UC Irvine is highly selective at the transfer level, we recommend you establish a strong academic record above minimum eligibility.

To learn more about transferring to UC Irvine, please visit www.admissions.uci.edu or call our office at (949) 824-6703 between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Again, thank you for your interest in UC Irvine. We wish you every success in achieving your educational goals.

@iliketoytuls same here! I got financial aid info like a month ago, requesting proof of some things. But, still no decision.

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m actually REALLY confused as to why I was rejected. UCSD has a better Engineering Program than Irvine and I was waitlisted there but flat out rejected here. I’ve gotten into UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara as well with Mechanical Engineering, and considering on all the sites that I check, they’re higher ranked than Irvine. Yep, Confused…[/li][/ul]General Comments: Good Luck!!

I STILL HAVENT HEARD

FROM UCI ADMISSIONS TWITTER: “99% of our admission decisions for freshmen applicants will be released by Monday, March 24.”
