Hello,

I also applied to UCI’s Nursing Science major.

I’m going to assume that these prerequisites are included in the spots labeled “General Education.” Of course I may be wrong.

As for the Bio question, passing the AP Bio exam “earns one Biological Sciences course toward Category II of the UCI GE requirement” (see: <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors; ). The bio prerequisites for a Nursing Sci major are 97 (Genetics), 98 (Biochem), M122 (Microbio), M118L (Microbio Lab), E109 (Physiology), E112L (Physiology Lab), and D170 (Anatomy) (see: http://www.nursing.uci.edu/programs/bs/change-of-major/#2 ). Unfortunately, from what I can find, none of these fall under Category II of the UCI GE requirement (see: <a href=“Redirect Notice”>Redirect Notice; ).

Also, have you received your admission decision yet? I have some friends (different major) who were accepted today, so I’m going to be a bit worried if other nursing science majors have already received their decisions. If I may ask, what were your stats (GPA, SAT/ACT, ECs, etc)? Sorry for all the questions, it’s just that you’re the first nursing science applicant (besides myself) that I’ve run into.

I hope I helped you with your questions at least a little, and I thank you for any answers to my questions!
