UCI Spring Transfer 2016

@dannybui9 There’s actually three options for students interested in psychology at UCI. They’re offered by three different divisions of the university and each appeal to different perspectives of Psychology.

Option 1: The school of Social Sciences has a Psychology department. This is the one you mentioned. If you apply to them the major is “Psychology”. This is the more general and traditional “Psych major” path.

Option 2: The school of Social Ecology has a major called “Psychology and Social Behavior”. This is still Psychology but focuses more on the behavioral side.

Option 3: The school of Biological Sciences has a major called “Neurobiology”. This is also a form of psychology, and as you can tell it focuses more on the psychobiology side of the study. Lots more science involved as it explores how our genetic factors relate to the way we think, and vice versa how the way we think influences how we process information. Deep stuff but this is a better option if you plan on doing something like med school, becoming a neuropsychologist, or just have interests more this direction.
