UCLA Bar - for those questions that take less than 5 posts to answer...

I hate politics.

As am I excited for this election.

Did you really?

I don’t have time to go through every thread.

In introductory courses and lower division courses, what MrSpam said. In your case, the TA will either conduct a quick review of elementary mathematic concepts (probably precalculus material), or cancel the recitation.

In upper division courses (specific engineering ones), material is taught in preview of the first lecture. There is always too much material to cover so every recitation is important. Sometimes problem sets are assigned already.

You are correct, FL’s are only worth 1 unit. However, my orientation counselor (who is in the honors program) mentioned several times that you only need 15 units worth of honors credit your first 2 years…so is it actually 20? And also, can you sign up for honors courses any quarter? Like we could take one next quarter or w/e, right?

thanks :)

What’s the best cell phone provider in LA? Is at&t good?

^^verizon worked well when I was at orientation…

At orientation, there were whiteboards in front of every door. Does anyone know if there the school provides whiteboards for every dorm door? (specifically dykstra)

^^ Verizon has always been the best on campus, but it seems to me like ATT has been getting better over the years I’ve been at UCLA

i would like to know too if verizon or at&t is better at UCLA since my provider contract ends in two weeks :)

anyone else with experience with these two?

AT&T is mediocre… just like my writing if not, my ego… possibly, my femininity (or lack thereof) as well (mr muffin, post #1060; Current Bruins Taking Questions Thread!).

:)

Devilhunter7 - Only in the plazas. In front of the halls are tackboards.

I have pretty good experience with T-mobile, although the service in De Neve is a bit sketchy

Honestly, it depends. Rieber Hall has half tackboard, half dry-erase board. Hedrick Hall has all tack, we bought our own dry-erase boards. Dykstra, I forget, because mrmoo didn’t invite me over enough :'(

You have to buy your own for dykstra. You get a tackboard. I want to do it old school and get a blackboard and BIG COLORFUL CHALK. Sexy

I’m always about to leave every time pink comes over, which wasn’t that many. LOL I remember your whiteboard with the whole buttplug stuff HAHAHA.

Thanks MrSpam and BoelterHall very much ^^.
Haha and I’m already taking a fiat lux. 2-3 days max probably won’t matter that much for Winter quarter anyway…plus I have cluster priority or w/e.

Regarding cell phones, I used AT&T on the Hill and outside of Ackerman during orientation and had perfect reception, many bars. I was not in a building, though.

In regards to textbooks, what does STD stand for? Is it essential?

At&T works in the buildings as well. there isn’t a place on campus that i don’t get full bars, north and south campus.

i lived in rieber, got full bars there.

I will bow down to you if you get full bars in CS50.
