Thanks Deuces, I think I’ll try it then, I’ve wanted to learn for a while now :)

Is there a date by which professors have to turn in their grades? I know it’s early to be wondering about final grades, but I’m just wondering so I don’t keep checking URSA every other hour.

Grades are due the Friday after the last scheduled final exam. Most professors will post grades towards the beginning of next week, but if your class is small, then it might be up already.

Just check daily, not every hour …

Does anyone know how to travel around in LA? I want to go somewhere but I dont have a car. Is bus riding viable or is there a better way? The place I want to go is about 12 miles from De deve.

if you have loans, when are they dispersing for winter quarter?

10 days prior to the beginning of the term.

What textbook is required for math 32B (with Radko)? Also, is the textbook required for LS2 the same as that required for LS1?

Thanks!

Looks like you’ll need Stewart’s Multivariable Calculus 6th edition. LS2 seems to need a different book from LS1

Go to the UCLA textbook store website to see what books you’ll need.

hey, along that same thread, are any of the life science books the same?
or is it a different book for each ls class?

I didn’t buy it for my LS1 class, but I needed to buy Sadava’s Life for LS2.

Hey guys, I’m taking LS3 with Lin. How badly do I need Weaver’s Molecular Biology/U?

regarding financial aid, since i need to pay whatever’s on it by the 20th, what if my $$$ for winter quarter has already been assessed before the 20th, although disbursement doesn’t occur until january? how should i approach this? leave as is, or what? i don’t recall this happening to me fall Q.

Yeah I’m in the same position as Jolius. I’m being charged for Winter Quarter before I have my loan funds.

Last year I just paid whatever the max credit card payment was in early December, had my financial aid distributed on January 2nd, and had no problems.

Nit is correct. Just worry about the max credit card payment for now.

do curves usually help students in larger or smaller classes? for math 3b, there’s a lecture with 180 students, and another with only THIRTY… should I sign up for the 180 student one because the curve will help me more? whearas the one with 30 might be a little skewed?

what’s the difference between A and A+?

http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/counseling/handouts/GPA%20Calculation.pdf</a> doesn’t even list A+; other sites write it as “A+/A”

^^^^^
pride, satisfaction.

hellogoodbye: the 30 person class is a really good chance to get up and close with a professor - really awesome experience.

so an A and an A+ are the same thing GPA wise…
