RE: DWM

Finals will differ depending on the professors, so you can’t really tell. But LS3 will definitely be tough and require a lot of studying (from my experience, I have not taken MIMG6 or Physics 6B)

i’m pretty sure all on campus shops/eateries accept bruin card.

but i dont see the point in using it if you have credit/debit/cash/check…unless you dont carry a wallet and just carry your bruin card.

Would you guys suggest typing or handwriting lecture notes for a psych class? Thanks!

i would type psych. the only thing i wudnt type would b a subject where the characters would be hard to find and it wud be difficult to do so…like math, chem, physics (which happen to be most of my classes) or when the lecture notes are given to me.

that bein said, ive never taken psych at ucla b4.

Anyone here been a reader before? (grade papers) Do you know how they pay you, and how much do you actually work? …

You know the picture that the housing application asks you to submit? What exactly is it used for?

Out of curiosity.

Any kind soul want to help me out with some computer questions - hard drive installation and OS restore?

tooo easy. are you installing an extra drive? and what did you do to your OS?

second hard drive or replacing the existing one? desktop or laptop?

just reinstalling the OS? repairing? copying current drive to new drive? windows/mac/linux?

bought the PC’s used from work, hard drives had to be removed. need to put in new ones but don’t have the discs that came with the system. they had xp installed on them, so i’d like to stick with that. can i just send for some restore discs from dell, or will it be harder than that?

thanks!

you might need to buy or get a copy of windows since the copy that came with the system is still on the other harddrive and not deactivited, but yeah i think if you take like pic10 or in engineering school you can get a copy of windows vista or xp for free if not there are other options

well, i dont think the company would be reusing the hard drives. probably just kept them to destroy them so sensitive data wouldnt be leaked.

does your work have the restore discs?

im not sure how the EULA for windows is written; does the COA sticker on the PC mean you possess a valid license for windows?

Yeah, they retrieved the hard drives to be destroyed. The company’s out of business, so there’s really nobody to call and get the discs from.

So buying new licenses is the only option? If the COA number does entitle one to use the OS, how does one actually reinstall it on the new hard drive? I mean, how do people go about it when their hard drive totally crashes and they need to put in a new one?

Sorry for all the questions, but I’m confused :(

Regarding work-study, where can I find the timesheet deadline days for 2009? I only managed to get the link for the biweekly payment schedules.

Are labs (for example, physics labs) generally skipped week one if we don’t receive any information about them?

Anyone know how walk-in at the bookstore works? I’ve only ever done pick-up. Do we have to like leave backpacks at the front and stuff? And do we just walk in, look for the different sections of books and pick it out, bring it up, ourselves? Or is there something where we tell someone what books we want and they have to look it up?

walk in, drop off backpack, find books, pay for books, get backpack.

assistance is available. some books will be found at the register (it will say on the shelf).

alright thanks lol

thank you for using the automated response system.

if you see a huge line outside, thats just for checking in backpacks. if you dont have a backpack/bag with you, you can just walk right in without waiting in the line
