***UCLA CLASS OF 2019 APPLICANT DISCUSSION THREAD***

…what supplements…

@aishmin‌ Not confident at all. Don’t expect to get in.

@questionscollege. @michaelite, @eurocar, Supplerments are additional essay questions given to applicants who are considered borderline.

My supplements were soooooo pathos so idk but I got a good feeling

What the supplement @uclabound1‌ is

@aishmin‌ mine was for my disability

Upvote: What is a supplement?

@aishmin‌ I am!

I think 8 will be the latest. I’m going to see insurgent to take mind off of this later.

Is anyone else hoping/praying for a Scripps decision tonight?!

Am I the only person that didn’t get asked for a supplement?

I didn’t get asked for a supplement either.

The admission portal changed from “Friday Evening” to “Friday Night”. I’m guessing they aren’t releasing them at 5 but I might be wrong. Good luck everyone!

@tinyone i didn’t get a supplement too

@tinyone, it’s not a bad thing if you didn’t get one. It’s for borderline applicants, so people who have stats that are relatively low are the ones who are happy to get them.

@aishmin‌ Well I got the supplement for UCI, UCLA, and Berkeley and just got waitlisted for UCI so…I’m feeling pretty scared now :frowning:

They have nothing to do with borderline the supplements are used by the university in case they want more information about something you touched on in your application for ex. hardships, learning disabilities, extracurriculars or talents. If insufficient information or they just want to know more they may request the student fills out additional supplements.

  • it is not an indication of acceptance or rejection (I asked this to a UCLA rep when they visited my school b/c my friend got one but I didn't) so don't freak out - @‌maielle226

@tinyone @miahun Very few people are asked for a supplement (maybe 5% of the applicants). Doesn’t mean anything if you don’t get one. However, if you do get one, it usually indicates that you are a borderline applicant.

its been like that @isaacng

I got the alumni email in January. Don’t know if that’ll help me though…
