***UCLA CLASS OF 2019 APPLICANT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Accepted!!!
Undecided
3.58 UW
3.92 UC GPA
In-State
Supplemental questionnaire

I was rejected. Seven percent acceptance rate? What is that? So after a year, students had one third the chance students the year before had? That’s a bit fucked, no? Any explanation for this?

accepted and ive literally been crying for 30 mins… im from NY and i really really love California like all of it and i was super scared i wouldnt get in OOS… sat here refreshing the page for like 2 hours waiting omg

Congrats to all who applied: I am humbled by your tenacity for the future. Everyone should be proud. Future awaits for all of you.

@Nearingcollege, I think the 5700 students is the enrollment or yield, not accepted.

Accepted!

rejected. :frowning:

Accepted! Wish I could give it to someone who wanted it more, though; I applied before I knew my results from some of my other schools and realized that UCLA was just too big of a school for me

@umsigmadom How would a student accept or deny admission before being offered admission though? Just a bit confused. I would’ve applied to UChicago having expected an acceptance rate less than seven.

@beatstanfordā€Œ im sorry about all the posts accusing you of lying… people were just very anxious and some people were trolling before. I wish your son the best of luck

also that fact that they had over 90,000 applicants? Crazy.

@GodHelpUs Same, I wish I could give my acceptance to someone who wanted it more :frowning: I’ll most likely be heading to Penn this fall, so that hopefully opens up a spot for someone on the waitlist!

@elhkie167 Also in NY! Would you share your stats if comfortable? Curious as to how OOS students stacked up. Congratulations!

anyone know if there is a fb group?

Accepted! Didn’t expect it at all! Proud to be a future Bruin!

Rejected. Which isn’t surprising if the school doesn’t sufficiently take into account the European (German) context.
1.5 GPA (on a scale of 6, where 1 is the highest)
2100 SAT
No sports (because there are not any)
No student clubs (Ditto)
No AP (Ditto)
1 year student gov (very informal)
No EC (because there’s no system for it and it’s not expected)

did anyone else get the achievement scholarship? is it purely financial-based?

@NearingCollegeā€Œ UW GPA 3.84, my school doesn’t weight so idk what it is weighted but all AP classes, 34 ACT, 2 740s and a 730 on SAT IIs, lots of ECs but biggest ones are probably president of a cappella group, starting my own photography website and shooting for magazines, and im a competitive sailor and would realllly love to be on the team at UCLA  congratulations to you too!

My son got in UCLA, so so happy!

Rejected, lol excepted
