Was accepted to UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCSC, and waitlisted at UCSD (all for Compsci major). Can someone tell me if i have chance of getting into UCLA for compsci (college of letter&science) , please. Thanks.

@MisterStudentt Purely based on the list of UC admission stats, the chance is very slim. UCLA CS is much more prestigious than UCSD’s. You need to post your personal stats to have better understanding of your chance.
@jaquabert One person who went to my sons’ high school said one of her favorite things at UCLA was being in the choir. She was not a music major. Pre-med of some sort I think.

I realize the portal will be jammed, but do they send out an email at the same time decisions are released? Or does that come much later?
According to my experience with UCI, they sent out the emails a while after the decisions are posted on portal. The email said if you have checked your Admission Decision website within the last 24 hours, it was the final decision.
Said I probably got rejected, mom agreed gg

@RichardCA Where did you get the idea that UCLA CS is much prestigious than UCSD? Based on all the CS ranking out there they are about on par with each other. UCSD CS is actually a bigger dept with a more updated program than UCLA’s. Now UCLA CS is probably harder to get into due its smaller size and the fact that many simply just buy more into UCLA brand. Because of that if you are waillisted already in UCSD chance is slim you’d get into UCLA. BTW, I don’t think UCLA has CS in L&S (it’s not UCB). Its CS is in the hard core engineering school!
@stressedlol4801 5 pm California time, 8 pm for the East Coast. Although 5 pm hasn’t officially been confirmed, and the portal will probably crash whenever decisions do come out, so it might be later that you get your decision.

What happens when the portal “crashes?” Don’t they have systems in place to prevent that, considering they know how many people will be logging on simultaneously?
