. As an LA native I always passed by the UCLA campus and fell in love with it, I’ll always have a little Bruin in me. When I started CC I was so set on UCLA the bus ride to school went by the campus every day so it served as a bit of motivation. Woah!! I am shook right now! I posted earlier about my acceptance as an out of state student from Vegas. I just had the chance to check my financial aid package and UCLA gave me wayyyy more than I expected. I only applied because I had the application fee waived and had nothing to lose. I was not expecting to actually receive a significant amount of money to able to afford it. I am truly grateful because UCLA is actually an option for me now, even with OOS tuition!!

I am SOOO happy. It is truly a dream come true for my family and me. I live in LA so I really wanted to stay local. UCLA was my top choice and so, of course, I already SIR’d!
Yes, I have a low GPA, but it’s due to the fact that I previously attended UC Davis during the 2011-2012 school year where I withdrew from with a 2.52. However, I received straight A’s at Santa Monica College (2017-2019) which bumped it up to a 3.3. I really made an effort to focus on English courses because I couldn’t go over a certain amount of units due to having UC units from Davis.
Future Non-Trad’s who hope to apply: You CAN do it and I’m rooting for you! I’m 25 and now I’m going to continue my journey as a BRUIN!!!

curr is more relavent than mine. It probably was the essays that didn’t get you in but honestly it shouldn’t matter with those stats. Like really sorry man… I hope that you get off the waitlist for Berk. you def. deserve to be in a top program.
