I have been lurking on this thread for months now so I’ll chime in and say with great pride and disbelief that I was accepted off the waitlist at 8 am on Saturday morning (what a surprise, wasn’t expecting the weekend, or any time really). I am over the moon!!! I am an older student (34) and I’m lugging around some poor grades from dabbling in CC classes half-heartedly years ago. I straight A’s but for one B in Spanish for the last 6 or 7 quarters. I spent a LOT of time on my essays. I have quite a bit of volunteer, extracurricular, and professional experience (as a writer and actress) And I REALLY wanted to get in. ? I’m so glad/grateful to the universe that I actually, finally did. Last year’s waitlist thread is so depressing and full of rejections, looks like they went about things differently this year.
To anyone still waiting or who hasn’t heard, my heart is with you and you will be FINE. I was prepared to go to UCI and get a great education from a top university. If you’re going to a UC, you’re already doing well.

For those of you who got in, did you somehow submit your final grades for spring before decisions were out?

@TatianaF I didn’t submit Spring grades! Only Fall and listed the classes I had in progress.
@bridebites thank you! I was worried I wasn’t hearing back because of grades. The wait continues…

Hey I’m a poli sci major, have you heard back or do you know anyone in our major heard back? I started to worry a little cuz what if yield rate for poli sci is really high this year and they don’t need anyone anymore
@5500ftd how did you find out the yield rate for your major for this year if you don’t mind me asking?
Just taking a wild guess, cuz it looks like everybody admitted has similar majors
Anyone got decision today? Especially Pre-Econ? I can’t wait no more, have to apply for housing and other stuffs for my admitted school ??♂️
