UCLA school of film and TV INTERVIEW next week...help!!!

i’m applying for the school of TFT as well, (for theater) and when i was there for the auditions/interview i was talking to some of the theater students there they said that some people accepted had never even set foot into a theater before. i was shocked when i heard this, but i guess ucla just wants to be really diverse. if they think you’ve got good potential, they’ll give you a shot no matter what your background in the area. apparently they really like what you’ve submitted so have confidence that you are at least somewhat good. and picking 15 out of 30 is still REALLY good chances! (for the program i’m applying to, they’re only picking 12 out of over 200!)
so pointers:
attire: you want to look professional, but not like a buisiness woman. i suggest wearing some sort of black pants, somewhere between jeans and slacks (if that makes sense,) and a nice shirt, whether it be button up, or otherwise, no logo or anything. wear shoes that arent dirty, maybe flats or heels.
interview: now i don’t know what your personality is but i assume you are somewhat outgoing based on the fact that you’ve been in a touring band for so long. make sure you keep eye contact and a smile, and answer questions completely and honestly. if you are honest, your passion will show through and they’ll be able to see it.
based on the interview that i had to do, they will definitely ask you something along the lines of “why do you want to go to ucla?” so i suggest you browse the website a bit and find something about it that you really like, that’s different from other schools. they love it when you know a lot about the school because it shows your interest and also shows that you’re not just doing this interview on your way to inteviews for the other 93247 schools you’re applying for.
like chappa said, re-read what you have submitted so it’s fresh in your mind… so if they say something like “now, why did you choose to add the character ‘polly’ into your screenplay?” you won’t say, “polly who?” hahaha ok that was a really bad example, but you know what i mean.
oh! and for your major, i’m guessing they might ask who your favorite screenwriter is, so think of a few that you might like.
other than that, there isn’t any way else to “prepare,” so just be yourself!
good luck with the interview, and hopefully i’ll be seeing you on campus this fall! =D
