<p>NO! Don’t ever recommend the joke thing. Mine was funny to me and maybe some of you, but possibly not to some jaded admissions bot.</p>
<p>It wasn’t a joke, it was an anecdote. It really happened, but I told it funny. It’s one of those stories about your life that you tell your husband, and once in a while, he’s laughing while brushing his teeth, because he’s thinking about it.</p>

<p>I’m making chicken tonight. I have to brace myself, I can’t believe I am so anxious. I could have given a crap about UCSD. I only checked because I was curious–I only found out the day of, because I check this site. I couldn’t stop logging in. I had no feeling one way or the other–I didn’t really think I would get in, but I just couldn’t help myself.</p>
<p>This time around, the anxiety tells me that I won’t be getting good news, and I am really trying to prepare myself for being gracious about it.</p>
