FYI - My daughter just got an email that the San Jose, CA Chancellors event scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled due to Coronavirus threat… 
The email also includes this:
“Admission decisions will be released in your Applicant Portal on March 17, 2020 after 3pm PST.”
Yes, we were disappointed to hear this event was cancelled - my daughter was hoping to hear news of acceptance at the reception.
We were just informed that the Orange County Chancellor’s event scheduled for 3/14/20 was canceled as well.
Emailed admissions after they informed me Chancellor’s event in LA was cancelled asking about the announcement of admission that happened in NY. They replied saying decisions will be announced March 17th and that “We cannot state decisions prior to this date. Sorry!” -__-
Sorry to hear that the LA Chancellor’s event was cancelled. You are 100% getting an offer on March 17th. We attended the NY event and were told that all invitees have been accepted. So Congratulations!
I’m super nervous about decisions coming out, and I am worried I will not be able to visit UCSB if I am lucky enough to get in due to the threat of the coronavirus. Does anyone know if they plan on pushing back the May 1 decision deadline? Any information is appreciated.
UC Davis release the decision today, earlier than official informed date. Will UCSB also release info earlier? Nervous and looking forward.
UCD didn’t post official release date, just people’s guess by past experience, I thought it’d be Friday but glad to find out a day earlier that my son got accepted.
However, UCSB officially stated 3/17
If UCSB is a choice and you are accepted and able to attend, do not hold back bc of campus visit…SB is a beautiful place to live and campus is set in an ideal spot!! Older buildings but beautiful. Dorm life maybe best option but party neighborhood Isla Vista is not ideal for living & studying…look it up. The city Santa Barbara is a treasure !!
