Hi there, I’m currently in the same situation now. My case was quite bit different, I retook my AP Calculus and Ap Biology through online course system, normally the grades I regained suppose replace the old ones, however, my high school, said they added these two grades on my transcript and they also told me that UCSC will reconsider my GPA. I believed them and let them sent my transcript out. Last month when I checked my student portal, my application status turned to cancellation, I felt like I was being fooled and wrote the appeal immediately. And later I asked 4 of my high school teachers to write letters of rec for me.
Yesterday when I called the admission office, they said my appeal was denied. I was shocked and more importantly, since the time my admission was cancelled, I had never receive any email or notification from UCSC. However, the guy who picked up the phone said he was able to set up a time for me to have a conversation with the Director of Admission. So I guess I still have one shot.
