I got a rejection letter last year.

Dont know why you guys think otherwise?

It seems strange to me too. I got my acceptance with the first batch. I had no idea they would mail rejections. But no denying what my friend told me, considering I spent about 20 minutes consoling him. Take it for whatever its worth. I probably wouldn’t believe it either i guess. But trust me I confirmed it with him that he indeed got it in the mail. Maybe hes a special case, why would he be? i have no idea. Btw if anyones wondering, he had borderline stats anyway:
GPA: from what i know slightly above 3.0 from what he told me(like a 3.04 or 3.05)
major: Biochem
igetc: completed
prereqs: 1 remaining
tag: yes, got that same ambiguous reply we all did

Awesome, now I’m gonna dry heave every time I check the mail and stress the hell out.

@shadmansadek I think your friend should appeal or something. If you TAGed, it guarantees admission no matter what major. He may get in the school but not the major though.

can someone post a picture for proof?

@lbc123… when did you receive the letter… before april started??

I smell ■■■■■…

Well when I got my rejection letter last year it was sometime in early May. This may have been because I appealed though.

They dont post rejections till April 30th…that is a fact.

Hi everyone, did anyone who got accepted receive their official letter in the mail I did today. I thought it was very cute…“The Big Envelope”.

@CaliMade
I just got the BIG envelope today too! congrats to everyone.

Congratulations!!!

To anyone that got accepted with TAG did they tell you to finish your classes that you are currently taking during the spring semester?

For example in the “transfer condition contract” for UCI after i have been accepted they told me to finish Chem with a B and if i get anything lower my TAG will be revoked. Did anyone receive a similar message in there “transfer conditions” after they have been admitted with TAG to UCSD

I’m not taking classes right now, but the only thing I got was that TAG contract I gave you.

@piano

dude, chillax.

On the UCI website, i remember it saying that you cant get below a B in the general science courses if you want to complete the igetc. this goes for everybody. im sure ucsd is the same.

but i did finish my IGETC bro this is just a major prereq for my major

@ piano
I did tag for UCSD and I didn’t get a letter telling me I needed a certain grade in a class.
Maybe you need a B in Chemistry to meet the 3.0 TAG GPA requirement… but that’s just a thought.
Goodluck in Chemistry

^^ hmmm but then i already have a 3.0

UCI told me to finish with a B btw not UCSD

i’m just afraid that UCSD will ask the same thing. If they don’t then i will be dropping the class possible because if i do get a C. It will drop my cumulative GPA below a 3.0

thx for the input

@Piano

then dont get a C.

for irvine, it REQUIRES transfer students to have a B or above for your science major prerequisites. i def. remember seeing it on their website (or booklet?) one time this year. but if a C will drop your gpa lower than a 3.0, i guess it now depends how hard you want to work to get into a university.

gl dude. hang loose brah.

My UCSD message changed when I log on. I have the old, longer message again instead of the new shorter one for a pending application. The one that talked about the transfer admissions update…strange that it would switch back to old one. Any thoughts?

Site maintenance? If things go to formula, I think we should be seeing a second batch between April 1-4 for UCSD and UCSB–I hope.

P.S.

I’m still getting:

Thank you for your application to UC San Diego. We are currently reviewing applications for the Fall 2011 quarter.

Decisions for applicants will be posted mid March to April 30. Please check back later regarding the status of your application.
