Hahaha, I know I shouldn’t put my hope too high after getting the email from Jacobs Engineering school. They just sent me email clarified that it was for Freshman admits not transfers.
Here:

Dear *****,
Yesterday, April 25th, 2011, you received an e-mail from the Jacobs School of Engineering titled “Video from Admit Day 2011”. We sincerely apologize for the confusion as this e-mail was intended for freshman admits. You will receive an official notification of your admission status, as a transfer student applicant, from the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools (OARS). Please continue to check MyApplication between now and April 30th, for your official decision.

@Ktran

I knew it. This is either the third or fourth year in a row where UCSD has sent out a mass email to the wrong recipients. I think it’s time for some downsizing at the UCSD admissions department.

It’s kind of sad that a lot of people on this forum mindlessly read the email and quickly started posting in all the acceptance forums. Shouldn’t it cross your mind that something fishy is going on when you receive a brief email about an “acceptance” before your status was ever changed?

On 25th April 2011 i received an email,
Dear Faizan,

Congratulations on your admission to UC San Diego and the Jacobs School of Engineering!

If you weren’t able to make it to Admit Day 2011, check out this video of Dean Frieder Seible giving an overview of our programs.

We hope to see you in the fall!

On 26th April 2011, They say…
Dear Faizan Masood,

Yesterday, April 25th, 2011, you received an e-mail from the Jacobs School of Engineering titled “Video from Admit Day 2011”. We sincerely apologize for the confusion as this e-mail was intended for freshman admits.
Warm Regards,
Jacobs School of Engineering

I mean WHATS WRONG WITH UCSD? The 26th April 2011 email just simply IGNORES the fact that the email specifically mentioned that i got into UCSD’s Engineering School. I’ve already told my parent, relatives that i got in. Getting rejected would be really heart breaking! This is really cruel for students!

@faizanmasood90 I would only tell my parents after I got all the information about housing and where I should stay and all of that. After it has becomes a setting stone. I would never tell my parents prematurely. It would be such a disappointment if that happen.

lol that is sooo messed up faizanmasood90 I’m sorry to hear that. I would be very mad.

anyways, I haven’t heard back yet I’m a math major will all prereqs done 3.44GPA no TAG for any math majors wondering out there. housing app didnt change either.

I think at this point we’re just last minute decisions and anything can happen on the 30th. I’m not even worried.

UCSD really ****ed up with the engineering transfer students. I was so happy beyond belief when I received that email (although, I wondered why the account info never changed). Knew it was too good to be true. ■■■…truly ■■■. Now I have to wait for rejection on the 30th.

You could retake the classes that you didn’t earn an A in to improve your GPA. The worst case scenario is that you wait a year, review what you did imperfectly, and then you are better prepared for your upcoming challenge.

Remain optimistic!

^ my teacher said you have to wait 3 years now to retake a class for a better grade

^

After reviewing the policy, it seems that retaking a class you earned a “C” in does not replace the grade, unlike what happens if you retake a class you earned a “D” or a “F” in. That’s unfortunate, and odd.

LMAOO UCSD. Funniest school ever.

who here can or cannot access the schedule of classes when you log in to check your app?

Funny thing:

I got the clarification email WITHOUT getting the acceptance email.

Did it happen to anyone?

I can access the schedule.

Monkey, what does your housing application status say?

UCSD has the easiest review process (they simply look at gpa) and yet the manage to screw up constantly.

I can access the schedule, but I think everybody can.

My housing application is this one:

Is this the default message for unknown admittance?

Pretty sure that everybody can access the Schedule of Classes…
