You guys sure do like to criticize the administration of a school you so desperately want to attend.

UCSD received over 14,000 transfer applications. Highest than any other year. They didn’t expect that. They probably also didn’t expect as many competitive applications as they received.

To be honest, if you didn’t TAG in, I think it’s a slim chance you get in. Especially since TAG is so easy at UCSD and it guarantees one applicant will get priority over every other.

hello, this is my first reply… but I have been reading it a lot. I applied to both UCI and UCSD and haven’t heard anything back yet either… I’m thinking its a no for me :(

Dammit
Was hoping they’d be out by the time I woke up. I ended up not sleeping till 6 am cause I was stressed out about this and I just woke up twenty minutes ago. Sleep deprived and even more stressed out. God I hope the May 10th thing isn’t true Maybe I’ll give them a call in a bit to ask if they have an idea of the time they’ll release decisions

They are probably real sick of me by now, is what I’m saying.

And Essenar, to some degree UCSD deserves the criticism whether or not they accept us. Last year and the year before, there were some pretty big screwups. I would be thrilled and honored to go there, but I’ll stilll criticize it – I never accept anything wholesale. That’s what college is for, questioning and criticizing!

The more time they spend answering the phone and replying to e-mails, the less time they spend finnishing the final checks before release. In other words, harrassing them is counter productive. Just a thought.

@Essenar: That doesn’t make any sense. UCSD accepted everyone down to a 3.0 last year regardless of TAG (in non impacted majors)

There was definitely an increase in applicants this year, but it didn’t go up 50%. It was a modest increase. Looking at the numbers, I don’t see any way that the GPA floor would have gone up any further than 3.2/3.3ish. If you have above a 3.3 with no TAG, IGETC complete, non-impacted major, any all/most of your pre-reqs done, I would bet a decent amount of money that you’re in no problem.

Anything in the 3.2 and below range would have me worried.

I just figured out where the May 8th-May 10th thing came from. People were confusing “Transfer Admit Day” from UCSD’s Admissions page with the day we are supposed to find out if we were accepted. An honest mistake I think. And UCSB’s deadline appears to be May 10th, so maybe somebody mistyped or misheard one letter.

I will be calling at 12. I’m at work right now. I constantly have to be on a computer here, but there are other people in this room. They can’t see what I’m doing on here but they’d be able to hear me. GOD! UCSD is keeping me from doing my work!

I don’t think UCSD has a cut off that high. Arn’t there people at UCLA with 3.3s? I could have swore i saw some.

How many people applied with TAG?
Take that number and subtract it from ~9000 and that’s how spaces are left.
I doubt anyone eligible with higher than a 3.2 gets booted
