@itzcaroll: Oh I will. I’m going to assume that their answer is “we had a lot of applicants for comm and TAG doesn’t guarantee you a major,” which still sucks BIG TIME, but I think that’s what it’s going to be.

I’m literally sick right now from not taking that math class earlier in my career. ALL OF THIS could have been avoided!

Joey,

Nope, I’m living off campus.

I was rejected. I am a TAG student!!!

I am gonna be on the phone with these people Monday. I have gone over all of my classes, credits, GPA, and IGETC path FIVE TIMES…and I get the same STATISISTICS AS BEFORE. I also checked IGETC and TAG on the application!

I suspect this may have been a result of some confusion with my update application. I am going to appeal this completely, as I meet the TAG requirements. I was informed that a Pre-Calc class would not be counted towards my sixty units in February, so I had to pick up another class at the last minute to bring me above sixty units.

Also, there may have been an error in the way my AP courses were counted.

I cannot describe the amount of frustration that I have. Not even with a demotivational poster.

@itzcaroll: If my dumbass got into UCI, I would be completely shocked if you don’t. Get me some Goose! haha

@joey: You got it bro. I’m taking this as long/far as I can. My SRI for Irvine isn’t due until the first of June I think, so I have some time.

Congrats to everyone who got in so far.

For the TAG people that were rejected, make sure you call and find out why you were rejected. It could be a mistake on their part.

Even though TAG doesn’t guarantee college or major, it still guarantees acceptance to the school. But what happens to the kids that weren’t accepted to their major? Are they accepted as undecided or their alt major?

@Vertex: No, if TAGgers don’t specify a major that has a low enough number of applicants/competition, they’re out :(

@Chris

I am going to be going over everything with them on MOnday too. I am going to take the rejection.

@Grimes
You can have a bottle, if you would bring up my case to your friend. HAHa deal?

accepted, 3.8 from 4 year, marshall, visual arts/media major.

@itzcaroll: haha when you call on Monday give me the details.

I was rejected and I was in TAG. The **** is up with that?

accepted! ![]()

Rejected

x8mrxjohn8x: I’ve mentioned this before, THEY DO LOOK AT YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENTS!! When I met with an admission officer to discuss my medical situation these past couple of years, she 1: told me she liked my personal statements (she liked certain things which she brought up so I know they took a look at it) and 2: we set up the “director’s review” - where I would only be reviewed by the director of admissions because of the entire medical issue.

Sure I did use this to my advantage, but I would tread very carefully when you say that “I’m extremely lucky”. I don’t think two rounds of external beam radiation, radioiodine ablation, and four major surgeries on your neck and chest these past two years qualifies as “extremely lucky”… Not to mention finding time to study for my physics and math classes…

pheww!! that was close! i almost accidently accepted uscd’s admission. i stopped short.

I’m sorry wwlink, I’m missing a ton of pre-reqs and got in for EE, probably because I had IGETC and TAG.

I got rejected from UCD also.

Good luck next year or with whatever you decide to do!

Wow I can’t believe it…was not expecting this at all!

Accepted: Marshall
GPA: 3.26
Major: Computer Science
Prereqs: This is what blows me away…completed 3 out of 14!
IGETC: Complete by Summer '10

anyone know how to get to the fin aid award?

ACCEPTED! So I just looked at the financial aid award and it says that the verification is due on May 1st. Tommarow is May 1st and I was just able to look at my financial aid. W T F.? is anyone else in the same situation

What’s the damn point of IGETC anyway? I’m beginning to feel the ole “YOU HAVE TO SPEAK A FOREIGN LANGUAGE!” requirement shoved up my ass again.
