This wait will be the death of me

Actually, they did. Although not posted on their website, that’s the date that was provided to California high school guidance counselors. See [this post](<a href=“Admissions Notification Dates 2014 - #122 by MsStarlite - Applying to College - College Confidential Forums”>Admissions Notification Dates 2014 - #122 by MsStarlite - Applying to College - College Confidential Forums) in this year’s Admissions Notifications thread.

@thetavixx @Bernard1207 actually what happened with Cal Poly was that the decisions came out in a rolling manner. Generally (with some exceptions) OOS acceptances were notified first, then CA acceptances, then waitlisted applicants, then rejections. It caused A LOT of anxiety for those who didn’t receive notifications when their friends did. However, there was none of this website/IT problems nonsense.

Also many applicants who weren’t accepted felt that other students with lower stats got in instead of them. There’s a big ol’ thread in the Cal Poly section about comparing apples and oranges in terms of what major you applied to, what your stats were, taking extra A-G courses (which bumps your score), etc. Just a different type of admissions than the UCs who look at applicants holistically. I would not say that they “decided to cut almost all their top applicants.”

@callgirl14 My friend got rejected from Cal Poly Slo. She’s ranked fifth in our school. She has great extracurriculars. She is an amazing applicant holistically and statistically. I’m guessing that Slo is suffering from Tuft’s syndrome, as in they rejected all their top applicants because they know most of them would not choose Slo. They probably wanted to keep there admitted students enrollment high.

any updates on when they will have everything posted

@reesee1231 hooo yes, Cal Poly SLO has made a wise choice on cutting their top applicants, unlike Georgia Tech. GaTech joining the Commonapp basically provided a platform for top applicants to easily select GaTech as their safeties, which is the reason why GaTech has recieved so many more applicants than they did last year. GaTech’ll learn their lesson when they realize their admitted students enrollment plunge down to the ground.

I applied to Cal poly and got in and my stats arent so great, so it seems accurate…

^ Guys, they’re sending out emails now! Watch out for your inboxes, just got mine.
