UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

@pleaseacceptme99 Yep, it is hard to move on, always. I can tell that you might be right, but people will attack you. So I think it’s better if you just let them be who they are. I’ve seen you getting “attacks” a few times, and I feel like you shouldn’t do that so nothing hurts your feelings as well. I am sure that you are stressed out as well.

Hi everyone! I’ve been following every post on this thread, and I totally understand your confusion, i wish they just made it clear when and how decisions are released…

My biggest concern with UCSD is that a rejection from there would indicate a rejection from schools like UCSB and UCLA (dream school). I got into Davis, but now this is stressing me out that I’m screwed for the other UCs…

anyone have any thoughts about what a UCSD decision means for other UCs? Does anyone know of people that have gotten rejected from UCSD but got into Santa Barbara or UCLA?

sending good vibes

@pleaseacceptme99 that very well may be the case but UCSD is not UC Irvine. “Facing reality” has nothing to do with it at this point because we have no clue what’s going on. They could be following the Cal Poly SLO model of multiple acceptance waves before moving on. We just don’t know at this point.

@songgirl16 UCs release decisions independent of one another so a rejection or acceptance from UCSD has zero impact on the admissions decisions of other schools. I know of people who have gotten wait listed at UCSD but accepted at UCLA and vice versa xx

@deepblueocean yeah I’ve been “attacked” a few times lol but it’s alright it’s nothing personal I don’t take it personally. My feelings are not hurt I understand these are high stress times for everyone.

It just gets me mad that ucsd is doing this to people and like the students of Irvine posted at the end “don’t let them fool you if you see this pattern this is likely what it is”. But at the end of the day my opinion is just another speculation until we have concrete evidence from ucsd. So I understand the “attacks”

It’s not an “attack.” It’s important to let everyone know that speculation is just that- speculation. And in a high stress time like now people tend to forget that.

@gonewiththeair I know it’s not an attack that’s why I put it in quotation marks. I was responding to @deepblueocean who was the one who said I was being attacked. Which I don’t think I was as evidenced by my use of quotations on the word attack.

Also I acknowledged that my opinion, like anybody else’s at this point, is nothing more than speculation.

@gonewiththeair I see that you want to correct information, but sometimes, the way you, or anyone, word(s) some phrases makes it sounds like attacking someone. Sure, you are doing the right thing, but you don’t have to be like, “you are completely wrong.” Can people be little bit nicer when they disagree with another person? Everyone is stressed out, and why do we hurt each other’s feelings?

~HAPPY VIBES POSITIVE VIBES~

@vimlye YES GOOD VIBES ALL AROUND

@deepblueocean I’m sorry for being harsher Than I should. It’s definitely a high stress time for everyone still waiting for a decision but a lot of people forget that speculation is just speculation and that makes people more anxious!

Most of us are angry at UCSD not at each other. Let’s focus on that lol

@songgirl16 I was accepted to Santa Barbara as a top applicant but got March 30ed by UCSD. There’s still hope for the other UCs!

@gonewiththeair I totally agree with you. You can tell how I said to you. I am sorry for being harsh as well. I just feel like I am at the edge of a cliff, about to fall off. Everyone around me is getting into good colleges, and I am so nervous.

Good luck beautiful people!!

Whatever happens with these decisions just know that you are not the only one. Even if we are all strangers we have this in common and we can get through any ucsd decision together!

@deepblueocean I understand :(. Hopefully someone from the UCSD admissions office is keeping up with this thread and can ensure that they don’t release in the same manner next year and/or can release our decisions soon!

I don’t believe they did this to us!! and what if they don’t send it tomorrow either!!!

@gonewiththeair Yes, that’s how things should be. Too much stress at this point. Also, I wish people don’t ask other people where they will go for colleges because I have no answer… Anyway, best of luck to you!

@JohnM2020 Oh, my, if that’s the case, I think I am ready to start a protest.
