UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

Is it possible that a top applicant will not for some reason receive a call? I applied as a Human Biology major, ACT 34, GPA UW 4.0, UC GPA 4.6. I got admitted and offered Regents from Berkeley and Irvine. But UCSD is my first choice and I have not received a call :frowning: Considering that there are thousands of students to call, is it possible that they won’t have time to call everyone by March 6th?

@Atim10 unfortunately yes. Every UC weights different aspects of your app differently. 2300 SAT here and 4.8 UC GPA still no call. I applied for engineering major. You have Berkeley though!
Besides we’ll end up where we’re meant to be

Hopefully decisions do come out on Friday.

Too bad UCSD doesn’t have a B.A. in CS like UCLA and UC Berkeley.

@t19305 haha it makes me feel slightly better if you haven’t received a call either with those stats ^:)^ . Yea, I’ll live…but I’ll be devastated for awhile if I dont get into UCSD

Where did people hear about March 11 Decision Date?

@thejappster People have been saying Davis is confirmed for the 11th and that UCSD has been coming out the same day as Davis.

Well lets hope >_<

My admissions counselor told (via email) that they are planning to release decisions on the 11th.

@eric2020 that’s awesome, 6 more days!

@10s4life You got it! Anyone know the time they will release decisions on Mega Friday?

@10s4life Darn, hoped it would be in the morning. v.v

She said that it will most likely be after the school day haha. And no problem!! @10s4life

Disregard

Don’t worry if y’all haven’t received a call yet! I know people with 4.5 UC (4.8 un capped) and 2350 and they haven’t even received a call (ik about 10 people with those stats/around those stats lol). All we can do is wait.

I received a missed call at 12:22pm friday from a caller id “la jolla”. It was from an 858 number. Do you guys think that they would call not in “after-school hours”. I tried calling back but no reply. I am am not a urm and I don’t have high stats so I’m pretty sure it’s just a telemarketer I suppose?

@sarale Their phone number is (858)-534-3120

I’m pretty sure there are some creeps that are calling around this time since they are aware of this event…so guys, please be careful and listen closely to the call. The phone number I posted is UCSD’s official number.

Okay, so I just received the postcard in the mail telling me that I’m in with the invitation to the event discussed in this thread. Does this mean I’m getting considered for UCSD scholarships too?

@10s4life no worries! I looked on the UCSD website and it shows the list of counselors and the regions they represent. I think, if I’m not mistaken, they had it broken down by both regions and states.

@10s4life I’m really unfamiliar with the terms… I mean Regents, URM, etc?
