um ucsd i think it’s mid march already and i feel like its not coming out today?! i wish they could just tell us what’s up and give us a date… i really hope they don’t make us wait till march 30th. >:P
Does SD release results by major? Because I seem to be seeing similar majors getting in while I haven’t seen anyone with my major get any acceptances/rejections .???

They’re definitely not releasing by major.
Admissions is open until 4 so I guess we could get a decision at 4 but it’s highly unlikely. They may be releasing decisions on the 30, but I thought for sure they would release another wave this week
Just called admissions, twice. Asked if more acceptances are coming, they said yes. Asked when next wave was, they said it wasn’t for certain, and that it will be there by the 30th.
There is no real validity to these responses, but thought you guys would like to know.

@gonewiththeair I still think the release is mostly by major. I said this before, but most acceptances so far has been STEM, political science, economy, these kinds of majors. Yes few people did slip by from other majors (I guess they were super outstanding or smthing) but most were definitely from those majors.
And of course admissions wouldn’t directly tell you guys that it’s released by majors, cuz their answers to phone callers has to be very general and vague like “yes more admissions are coming soon” so they don’t get other specifics asked and stuff.
But who knows

@freakingout98 like I said, admissions will most likely lie to you… That may be true, but if they can answer that correctly, why can’t they answer the date the next wave will come in? Why can’t they say how many have been admitted, why can’t they let me know if I’ve been accepted, etc.
they will never give you details, esp an accurate one.
I got into UCI yesterday for biological sciences. Frankly after what UCSD has done, even if I do get in I don’t know if I would want to go. Seems like the faculty doesn’t care much for their students.
@miniminimint Tbh i’ve been following since the very first page and though there does seem to be a lot of stem majors, there actually seems to be majors across the board. I’m a stem major and only one person was accepted in my major so far and it was on twitter lol. Im pretty sure it was random with those with low stats and spectacular stats. Sure, they can lie. but I think they are giving vague answers because they are not even 100% sure when they are releasing. Perhaps they don’t want to get our hopes up if they they give us a date and they can’t meet that deadline? Though March 30th seems lightyears away, the only thing we can do is wait

UCSD’s representatives on the phones, while the ones who understand admissions process, are not the ones who actually upload to the site. When I talked to them, they kept referring to the admission’s people as “they”, suggesting a disconnect between the representatives, and the actual admission team.
Basically, nothing that the admissions rep.s say is necessarily true, nor is it false. Nothing people say has any validity to it, all we can do it just wait for at most 12 more days.
I’d hate to be denied or waitlisted for bio with a 34 ACT and 4.2
