@chubii oh yes, I have all the standard stuff like the confirmation, portal info, etc. but since the portal info I have not received anything I’m on the east coast if that even means anything.
So I think the reception email definitely means your accepted. Since we formally find out our admission decision in 3 days, they aren’t going to invite rejected students to the reception event. Makes sense.
Yeah, if you have received any special reception invitation you’re in.
I live in the San Diego area and haven’t received anything either. I’m getting increasingly more nervous as decision day draws near because of that. I’m hoping for an acceptance but I’m starting to prepare for a waitlist/rejection.
Even though most people won’t receive calls/invitations/whatever it’s still difficult to keep that in mind when it seems like everyone here is getting something! lol
Hope everyone gets what they desire! UCSD’s been my top school for a while, but I’m definitely preparing myself for the worst - I’m more than aware of UC’s erratic admission decisions. Can’t wait to finally hear back, whatever the decision is, and have this weight lifted off my shoulders. :]
usually what kind of admits will receive those reception invitation?
The wording on my portal changed from “We are thrilled you have applied to UCSD” to “Thank you for applying to UCSD”
I received a call, but I have no received a reception email. Interesting.
@wilddaffodils The wording also changed on my portal!
@newapplicant I’m not exactly sure but I was thinking it could be the same criteria for the calling campaign. I got it and I’m not in the top 30% (I think??) but I am a URM, so…
Same @wilddaffodils @kuidaore
They changed on my portal too but I didn’t get a call or email!
Honestly, I’m flipping out. I don’t know what to do! I got the supplemental request, but haven’t received a phone call or an email invite or a mail invite to that dinner. I really love UCSD and if I don’t get into UCLA, I was really hoping I could go there. Does anyone know any info about the stats of those that received the email/dinner invites?
@treehugger505 Me too
@jackisawesome I wouldn’t worry too much about not receiving anything. A good friend of mine with a 4.something GPA, a 2380 SAT, and numerous 800s on subject tests hasn’t gotten any phone calls or anything from them either.
The wording on my portal also changed. Can anyone who got a call/postcard/VIP tour invite/whatever report back on what their portal says now?
I’m hoping I will be called anytime this week even though admission decisions are soon coming. I want to know early too. Good luck to the people who haven’t yet received the reception email.
soooo did everyone’s portal change? bc I didn’t get any calls or emails either but mine changed.
Finally got the call from UCSD following the postcard…probably not regents though…
if your parents had “some college”, do you count as a first generation college student?
