UCSD Class of 2021 Discussion/Decisions

@InfiniteLibrary It’s one of my top choices! Still waiting on a few other schools. You?

@wormholes Yep! Right now, UIUC and UCSD are my top choices. Waiting on UCLA, CMU and Cornell.

Good luck!

@InfiniteLibrary Hey I’m also waiting on UCLA, CMU, and Cornell, as well as Cal and Penn. Good luck to you too :slight_smile:

I checked my financial aid awards and received $0 in scholarships and grants. Does anyone know if this is the official total or if it’s possible that this will change?

Here’s the GroupMe thread for UCSD admits if anyone is interested! (:

@june709 Yeah, that is the official total. There is a possibility it could change, but mine did not change when I was an incoming student last year. However, if your family makes less than $156,000 a year and you are a CA resident, you are eligible for this thing called the Middle Class Scholarship. You will not see how much money you get from it until school starts in September. They give you an amount based upon your parents’ income.

Okay - totally random question, but how do you quote someone or make letters bold on CC?

@InfiniteLibrary use the sign “@” and name, like “@infiniteLibrary

I registered for triton day but never got a confirmation email. Did this happen to anyone else?

Any Math majors out here?

@Madrocks I meant the quoting as in the one that appears in the grey-ish box. Thanks though!

@patertrium Wow! That’s helpful! Thanks!

@HB1999 Yes. Mathematics-CS major here.

Congratulati ons to all

Is it okay to do that ^ ?

@InfiniteLibrary WHOA

Accepted :slight_smile:

College: Warren
Major: General Biology

Stats are as follows:
ACT: 31
SAT (new): 1460
GPA (weighted): 4.38
GPA (unweighted): 4.0
EC’s: mostly performing arts, AP scholar, volunteer work, etc.
Essays: strong (pretty sure they’re the reason I got in)

Quick Question. Does anyone know what the point of the All Access Tour was? I was invited and found out that I was accepted a few weeks ago but told to keep it all a secret. I wasn’t given any special scholarships and nothing ever followed my attendance. Was there a reason for it other than to simply get me thinking about their school before admissions notifications came in?

SAT: 1400
GPA: 4.2
Maj: Neuroscience and physiology

Wow @laienanan – my DS has nearly the exact same stats as you (and also Warren college, Biology major), but didn’t get invited to this “all access tour” Maybe you are a sought-after ethnicity or first generation college or something? These seem like fairly regular stats for a UCSD biology major admit. (i.e., a tad higher than needed for a humanities major, but not high enough for Regents or Chancellors, etc.). But yeah, maybe your essays were more impressive than my DS’s (or something).
