Do Admission officers read essays of all the applicants? Like, I have 1170 SAT, I’m afraid my application would have automatically landed in a trash can xD. My EC’s were good and essays were unique too.
@bazinga0522 All of the UCs pride themselves in the fact that they read through all finished applications. Regardless of your stats, they will definitely give you your due time while making decisions.
What time do decisions release?
I’ve been on this thread for a while. I’m the mom of a college applicant. I’d like to take a minute to congratulate everyone here on being students who are engaged in their futures and for being human beings who are kind to other people in the same boat as you. No matter what news the results bring today, you all have a great foundation to be successful wherever you end up. Special thanks to @Julieta2321 for her patience, kindness and empathy. Good luck to everyone.
From previous entries on this thread, it appears that results are usually published at the end of the school day in CA which would be after 5pm Central time and 6pm Eastern time. @zlatanibra10
I’m a parent, too, and I 100% agree with @Cliffhanger2018. I am really proud of all of you kids, and encouraged that you are our future. No matter what happens today and in the coming weeks, take it all with a grain of salt and stay focused on your goals. Congratulations all around!
@bazinga0522 if am being honest…I am in the same boat, I have a poor say score, and in my opinion good essays. I will say this people have told me that they will read the essays, and I think they do. But first impressions are a think and they look at the numbers first, so you can’t ride completely on the essays. Regardless, good luck, I want rooting for you
For those who are actually very anxious and need a quick fix, the only thing that really works for me is to make a LIST that is finite but challenging to list. For example, list all the starter pokemon or list all the food groups with three example foods. Not sure what it is that makes it helpful, but it might be the focus you put into it and the satisfaction of completing the list!
I am currently at my internship in UCSD and saw this link calling.ucsd.edu for alumni to call April 2-6, April 16-20, and April 23-27. It’s for alumni to answer the questions of newly admitted students.
@julieta2321 decisions didn’t come out yet for u guys right?
Good morning to everyone and good luck to all of us.
After being allowed to register for Triton Day last night—which clearly means I’m a shoo-in and my admission is a SURE THING—I figured it’d be a good idea to order me some new duds to wear to the celebration.
This morning I fetched my parents password to Amazon and loaded the cart up on a whole new Triton Day outfit to wear. I’m a slave for fashion so that yellow sports coat I ordered will be a hit with those red golf shorts I’ve been eye-balling for the past two weeks, and so fond of.
“After being allowed to register for Triton Day last night”
Hate to break it to you but this doesnt mean you got in automatically
@KES2022 Did you receive any cancellation email or email saying that it was a error?
@SmartGurl17 did you get one after you registered?
@jeremy_cohrt his post was sarcastic lol
@SmartGurl17, no email yet. Either way, that registration means nothing. The decisions will be out eventually and that will be the only thing that matters related to admissions.
@KES2022 u r a blessing to this anxiety ridden hell-thread
I’m thinking of getting a guitar so that I can sit near the edge of the cliffs of La Jolla while singing to the sundowns on the horizon.
I don’t want to brag here but I must say that I’ve been told on more than one occasion that I do have an ability to wax poetic on the whole sunset mood thing.
Those fond childhood memories of being with friends witnessing my first orangey-red sunset are conjured every time I see one. Those sightings are so special.

Where is @Julieta2321 xD
She won’t know until like 11am
