I go to CP SLO for EE. I am trying to transfer to UCSD by taking classes at comm college, completing the TAG(transfer admission gaurantee). It seems ridiculously easy to transfer to UCSD, only a 2.8 cum, so i feel as though there is a catch. How hard is UCSD? I really need to know if i can get good grades there.

Which CC are you going to? Sometimes, that 2.8 cumulative GPA is only a minimum depending on the CC itself, the UC you’re transferring into, and the major/department you’re applying under.

No it apply’s to all California CC’s. Its guarenteed admission if you make a 2.8.
It only doesnt guarentee a spot at a impacted major. I’m going EE, even though its the worst major in the world, because its un-impacted

Um…I know absolutely nothing regarding transferring, but I’m not seeing this 2.8 information…in fact I’m seeing a 3.4 at least recommended and priority given to kids coming from California CCs…

Perhaps the 2.8 guarantees being accepted to a UC from a California CC? Not necessarily UCSD?
