<p>I do know the average cost of a home in Gainesville is nowhere near as high as a cost of a home in Coral Gables. Gainesville doesn’t have $10 million+ waterfront mansions, but Coral Gables does.</p>
<p>Gainesville doesn’t have an NBA Championship winning team in the Miami Heat. Nor does Gainesville have the Miami Dolphins. </p>
<p>South Beach is in Miami not Gainesville. The number of nightclubs in South Beach alone are greater than the number of nightclubs in Gainesville.</p>
<p>Cruises leave from Miami not Gainesville. </p>
<p>A lot more bands/performers/DJ’s come to Miami. Bob Sinclair a famous techno DJ is on his western tour and he went to Boston two days ago and Miami I believe last night.</p>
<p>Like I said previously SSobick, University of Florida does not have as much nightlife as University of Miami. It’s that simple. Yes, Gainesville may have bars , but they don’t have championship winning professional athletic teams, they don’t get major bands coming to play and they don’t have the famed South Beach.</p>
<p>When was the last time you checked the tour date for a major band such as say U2 and it said Gainesville, Florida on it?</p>

<p>Florida hasn’t done anything in the rankings in recent times. They have always ben around the 46-52 range. Miami has only increased their ranking by 12 spots within the last 4 years.</p>
<p>Florida will always be a public school with a price tag significantly lower than Miami’s. On the other hand, Miami will always have students that are more well-off on average and will have a much larger amount of the Bmw/MB/Audi driving rich kids walking around with their Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses and Dior handbags when compared to UF.</p>
