Uggs?

D’s favorite is the Minnetonka “pugs”, I think it is called. They have a more water proof and molded foot. My bet is that these last longer that Uggs.
In fact, someone stole her 2 year old pair!!!

She is looking at the Ugg Brooks style now- warm but more fashionable, as she plans to go to college in a warmer and more urban area…

I live in Southern California, close to the beach, and I love my Uggs!! For us we feel cold when it dips below 55. my husband hates them, but they have saved me at many soccer, baseball, and football games. I have not tried any other brands.

Love my Uggs. I wouldn’t be able to walk my dogs in winter without them. I cannot stand it when my feet are cold.

We live in the Deep South, and have a son who went to all boys school since fifth grade. We also have nothing but nephews and male cousins.

When we started the college visits, also in the South, though not so deep, my husband and son were perplexed by the amount of boots we saw on young ladies. And they wear them with shorts, too.

Can you explain this fashion phenomenom to a family of boys and fashion challenged women?

Costco…Uggs are not better quality at all.

There is following for Costco boots. The teens have dubbed them Cuggs.

^How are Cuggs? Are they better quality than Uggs? Uggs have been not surviving very well, I hope Cuggs will last a bit longer than few times walking in wet weather.

I have four pairs of Bearpaws…and I love them. I had Uggs too…but really for the price, I don’t see the difference. I would strongly suggest you spray your Uggs/Bearpaws with water repellent spray…I think that is what has made mine look good for so long. I have Bearpaws…black, dark brown, and tan. Uggs are a darker tan color. Truth be known…I like the Bearpaws better. You need to try them all on. I’ve found that some Bearpaw styles have less tready soles, and thinner fleece on the insides.

My next boots (I do love them) are going to be NEW Sorels. I have a pair of old Sorels I bought in 1973…yep…they are the best for warmth.

I just don’t get the whole Uggs thing. I know they are popular but the ones I see all over the place are broken down, stained and the snow soaks right through them. I don’t see the benefit in spending all that money when the knock-off’s work just as well. They are not warmer or last longer from my experience.

We live in a beach community in SoCal and Uggs and shorts are worn in the winter by the middle school girls around here. My hs senior D has serveral pairs of Uggs from years gone by, but doesn’t wear them much as they are not in fashion.

I on the other hand love my Uggs with my skinny jeans on a cold rainy day here. I always spray my boots with the water repellent and they have lasted well.

D1 at college in NYC does not wear her Uggs in the rain or snow there since they will just get ruined. Instead she has a pair of Hunter boots with liners she uses in the winter.

I am old (58 one month from today-yuch) and just bought a pair of Uggs Ashdales. They look like LLBean duck shoes, but they came in PURPLE. How could I leave them?

My Ds and nieces got the Emu brand, (carried by Journeys shoe stores, Macy’s, Zappos, others) a few years ago. AFAIK, they’ve held up well.
A VERY good value compared to Uggs.

We had Emu, Uggs, nothing was holding even with treatment. I can see them holding on a beach. they did not hold in wet snow at all, we will see about Cuggs this year, but at least they are so much cheaper.
