UIC admission scholarships

I was offered admission at UIC, however, I do not know if I have received a scholarship or not. How would I find out?

What type of scholarship? Any scholarship with a financial need component, will require you submit the Fafsa application. Merit scholarships come via Honors College and they won’t start the process until Spring. If you aren’t in the Honors College, you won’t be eligible for them

UIC offers very few scholarships. Don’t expect anything from them.

I did not submit any FAFSA, and I did not apply for the Honors College. So UIC does not offer any scholarships at all if I’m not in the Honors college? Is it best to enroll in it then?

Pretty much all the pure merit base scholarships at UIC come from Honors College. There are some scholarships which are associated with a degree/specific academic college and they come via the college. To be competitive for Honors College, you will need an ACT score of 28 and be in the top 15% of your class. Some of the scholarships do require that you are an Illinois resident. You will need to fill out FAFSA to be eligible for all potential scholarships and grants.

UIC, like most public schools, don’t offer many scholarships.
