if you don’t get into gppa, then ya, it’s your choice whether to go to honors or not go.
ACT 31 is not in the average range, considering that average score of ppl who get into gppa is 33-34.
The rest sounds really impressive tho!

Thanks, I am really nervous. I really want to get into the program, but I dont know when Ill hear back. good luck everyone

anyone hear back from the feb 5th honors college interview for the gppa interview?

So I checked my online application status for UIC’s regular admission and its says “admit” so I’m assuming I got in. And I’m guessing the letter of acceptance will come sometime tomorrow or monday, maybe tuesday.

So my question is, for people who were contacted for interviews for GPPA, how soon after you got the letter of acceptance or after your application status says “admit” did they call to set up an interview date? should i expect to hear from them soon??
thanks
btw, i applied for GPPA pharmacy

OneOneSon
I also received admission letter from regular UIC but I received it like a month ago and I still haven’t received dates for interview yet
So I think that interview dates don’t reallly depend on the uic regular admission

God, why are they taking forever?!! haha

I just want to know how they’re doing it, like how are they contacting people so I don’t get so freaked out about not getting an answer.

Anyone got any tips on the interviews??

OneOneSon,

I’m 90% sure they contact you by email so check your email that you put in the app often
I’m still waiting too and I’m assuming we pharmacy applicants may receive it later than meds since meds applied earlier…

Blueberry92,

haha, i check my email like every three seconds even though i know they’re not gonna answer for another couple weeks, but u know, i never stop hoping.
but yea, thats true, and cause a lot of people apply for the medicine one too

OneOneSon,

Same here im so nervous ><

blueberry92,

just out of curiosity, wat does ur last name start with?

and i’m still waiting on the letter of acceptance for regular uic, the online application status said i was admitted on saturday, i wonder why its taking a while to get here.

oh, for gppa online application status, they put a ‘decision’ bar and it says pending. hbu?

GPPA med has gotten very competitive. Most people who get in have very high GPA or very high ACT. Many have both. The ECs are also very important, but will never makeup for low test scores or grades.

they are doing thing very timely. they actually start calling for the second interview right after the first one.

OneOneSon,
That I can’t tell sry, but my last name is certainly not A, B, or C
Mine also says pending and according to what I’ve heard it will say so till we are done with the interview. Let me know if u receive one~

IIT and Rush Medical College offer a joint admission program for sophomores. IIT is more geneorus with merit-based scholarships, that would total up to 55,000 per year, more than enough to cover all expense. The medical program is not guaranteed for freshmen, though.

Let’s put aside the fact of scholarship or the avantage of the “guaranteed”, and just think about the school itself. Which do you think is better - IIT vs. UIC; Rush vs. UIC Medical School - in terms of quality and opportunity?

Buy the way, I am a parent and English is not my native language. Please put up with my writing.

I know the minimum composite ACT score for all GPPA programs is 28, but what score do you need to have a good shot at getting accepted to the dentistry program in GPPA? I’ve read online that med and dental are cutthroat in terms of admission. So does that mean you need a 33+ to be competitive?

I’m a high school junior, and I’m considering different colleges/majors/careers. Not sure if I want to go into dentistry, as there are other paths I’m considering and I’ll always have an open mind.

Yes, I heard 33 is actually the average score for med and den. so you definitely want to raise it to the best score you can get. And then focus on extracurriculars for a plus
BTW I received formal invitation. Anyone ?

I didn’t yet which prolly means i won’t. Btw blueberry did u hear via phone or email?

UChicagoplz,

I received it thru email.
And the dates are March 7 and 12 so there’s still time. ;)
