How about UIUC’s Education Program compared to other state universities? One of my friends at EIU who is a education major said UIUC’s program was horrible. But I have an acquaintance who found a teaching job right out of graduation from UIUC, so I guess it depends on the individual. (?)

The University of Illinois consistantly ranks in the top 10 in many areas of Education. In looking at the USNWR Rankings, I’d say that Wisconsin-Madison ranks at, or near the top in most areas of concentration within Education, however.

When you say other state universities, do you mean other state universities within Illinois? If so, Illinois State generally gets very high marks in education. In fact, in a lot of places in Illinois, it is considered the superior school for education. Just don’t tell any of the people I know that went to ISU that I admitted that… ;-)

I meant within the state of Illinois. Now when you say, “superior school fo education,” do you mean in general or are you referring to ISU’s Education program?

I mean ISU’s Education program. Now, I am far from an expert (I was in engineering when I was at Illinois) but I know lots of people from different areas of the state who know more about the subject than me that have cited ISU as the better school to get a degree in Education.

Can someone tell me my chances for UIUC Engineering?
I have a 3.2 UW GPA, with a rigorous courseload, a 3.5 Weighted. Also, not that my junior year was a 3.6 UW and a 4.0 W. My SAT is likely going to be roughly 2000 with 700+ math. That’s what all of my practice tests have said. I have decent EC’s that include community service, a leadership role, athletics, and music. Do I have a decent shot at UIUC Engineering?
