UIUC Chances

Tough call, your GPA is a bit too low as is your ACT. UIUC stopped Early Admissions, everyone will find out in Feb. 2015. I was worried my daughter would not get in, she did not take any AP classes at York High School, she has a non weighted GPA or 3.5 and a 30 on ACT. She got in. Most all the kids she met had 4.0 and over 30 on ACTs. She did meet a person who got a 24 on their ACT in the Education Department. Just apply, but have back ups. UIUC average ACT score was 29 for last year admissions. My daughter was rejected from all her reach schools and even my college of UW Madison…so much for legacy. You have a great shot in the Education Department but transferring out is tough but not impossible. My daughter applied to LAS and got in but I was worried and she is interested in agriculture biology and that department you can get in with lesser stats and I was going to encourage her to choose that field, but it worked out. Our back up was Ohio State and University of Minnesota, both she got in but zero aid. Good luck!!
