<p>I agree that ABET accreditation does not matter, but large public colleges do admit by major, which may make transferring to a major in a different college difficult, thus limiting the OP’s options. And the engineering major to which the OP was admitted pays less, making this particularly relevant. The reason why Stony Brook’s salary is unlisted is because I could not find it online, not due to the program.</p>
