UMass Amherst, UVM or UNH. Please help us decide.

Hi @Momma1234. My advice: stop, breath, take a step back. UMass Amherst is a truly impressive school on the rise. Do not let the fact that your daughter isn’t initially admitted to CHC take it off your plate. I know both UNH and UVM and UMass is the more highly respected of the three, for many reasons. Once you see the campus, the students and faculty, you may have an idea why. So much investment is taking place and rightfully so. The opportunity and choices there are unlimited.

It appears that your daughter is driven and will not have a problem applying and getting into the honors college, which does come with very valuable opportunities. She will also have a chance to get into honors housing next year. For now she should opt to select a RAP which will put her in among like Pre-Med minds/people/friends. It’s really not that big of a school. My daughter, in her freshman year (CHC), is surprised at how manageable, even small, the school becomes.

I hope you keep an open mind when you visit. I have nothing but the highest regard for this school and very proud to have my smart daughter there.

Best of luck.
