UMD - Party School

^Frat parties are hit or miss, too.

I’ve actually only been to one where the drinks ran out…and I did show up at 2 am…but I promptly left and went to another :).

And then some are like awesome raging dance parties, and others are just like 15 bafoons playing beer pong and trying to hook up with 2 or 3 slutty girls.

As much as I hate frats out of principle (don’t shoot me) and as much as I think frat parties can get stupid and tiresome, I’m gonna admit that some boys - even if they’re in a frat - do know how to throw a good party :).

Parties in general are always a hit or miss; you have to check a few out in a night, have some connections who you know are always throwing sick parties, or throw them yourself ;). I totally don’t think you’ll be disappointed at MD. But you have to know that finding a good party when every other house is throwing one on any given Fri/Sat. night is like a needle in the haystack. I mean a lot could go wrong. There’s a lot of wannabes :P. Plus eventually you’ll grow out of going to random houses and find it’s nicer to chill at a friend’s place.

But I agree on the bar scene. I totally DO NOT get the appeal of it at all, I mean, too loud to talk (and nowhere to go, unlike at a house party), drinks are not free (?!) or extremely reduced in price…it’s like we’re all paying to…sit…around? So yeah, bars, no. Although Santa Fe can sometimes be cool 'cause of the bands. The Pie Tasters came once. How awesome is that.
