Umiami vs Umichigan for Marine Biology!?!

For marine biology specifically, Umiami is definitely stronger. For biology in general Michigan is stronger.

Umiami has access to tropical reefs and they use that to their advantage.

If you are absolutely certain Marine Biology is what you want to study, I’d go with UMiami. If you think your interest might change, Umichigan is probably the better bet.

Aside from marine biology or biology in general, both are great schools, with Michigan being the clear frontrunner.

USNWR: Mich#29 UMiami#44 (Remember USNWR is a guideline, not a be all end all ;))

Umiami is very up and coming. They’re doing their ‘Momentum 2 Campaign’ generating another 1.6 billion for the university, and they have ambitious goals to “propel themselves into the uppermost echelon of higher education universities in the US.” Umiami has also risen more than any other university in the top 50 (USNWR) in the last 10 years. However, Umiami still can’t yet match Umichigans overal academics or reputation.

Both schools have similar acceptance rates of about 37%
Good luck!
