<p>I am not sure I understand the point of reviving a thread that is over 5 years old. At the undergraduate level, the difference between #5 and #13 is negligible. Michigan CS alums are as well represented at major Silicon Valley tech firms as UIUC CS alums. Like I said in an earlier (much earlier!) post on this thread, this sort of insignificant detail should not be a determining factor. Cost of attendance, if it is indeed a concern, should be the driving factor in this case. If cost of attendance is not a concern, then I would recommend Michigan over UIUC because it is a better university overall, and provides undergraduate students with a better overall experience. </p>
