<p>Aww oshkosh that’s not cool! SIlly school. It’s true, however, AIM can be distracting in its first stages…when you initially get it. After that it’s just there like a phone.</p>

<p>I’ve yet to introduce myself! I’ve been lurking this board for the past few days, but you all seem like awesome people! I hope all works out for you guys, regardless of which path you pursue! Here are my stats:</p>

<p>Race/Ethnicity: Indian (Muslim Pathan from Uttar Pradesh…haha nice to see soooo many desis on here, so forgive me-i had to get a lil more specific lol ;-)); recently obtained American citizenship
Location: Coastal Mississippi
School: Public residential magnet high school
Rank: School does not rank
ACT: 33
SAT: 2260
SAT II’s: Taking them Dec 2
GPA: 3.96 U
AP tests: none :-(</p>

<p>EC/Misc:

  1. National Merit Semifinalist
  2. 1st place in national poster competition for the History Channel
  3. Hurricane Katrina volunteer work
  4. VA Hospital volunteer work
  5. Various job shadowing/medical observation activities
  6. Co-captain of high school volleyball team
  7. Orchestra: viola player for the past several years
  8. Student Government Association, Cabinet Member
  9. Involved with local Islamic school as an teaching assistant
  10. Numerous other non-medical related activities (Journalism, Young Democrats, Model UN, cultural awareness group, etc.)
  11. Attend boarding school with rigorous math and science curriculum, several AP and University classes but haven’t taken any AP tests…no research either :-(</p>

<p>I’m out of state and concerned that I don’t have enough med-related EC’s. any pointers/tips/words of encouragement?</p>
