I would also say honors notification can come any time until the end of March while admissions are shaking out. If you don’t have it yet, that doesn’t mean you won’t. That goes for scholarships too. I have a kid that applied last year, had acceptance in October, honors in January, scholarship late Feb/early March? My other kid that applied a few years ago had all that info within 2-3 weeks of application in October. Depends on program, where you applying from, etc.
That said everyone is considered and I don’t think there is a normal appeal process (we are local and alum and know lots of students who apply and attend. Both my kids were offered honors and a scholarship). It is possible to apply later however.
The other thing to note is honors is the top 10% of incoming by school or something like this. It’s more competitive for CSE, CBS, Carlson. Here is an overview of stats often included for honors (scroll to the bottom, stats are by school)
