ACCEPTED as a sophomore wow so excited !!

High School GPA: 3.97

In college I’ve been a member of Al’s Pals, an elementary school mentoring group, SaveFirst Tax Service for low income families, and a college political club.

In high school I participated in a host of YMCA government programs, mock trials, debate, varsity cross country and tennis team, President of two government clubs, and delegate to local, state, and national government programs

I forgot to mentioned I’m OOS as well

I don’t know how I got accepted but I did!
College GPA 3.67
Highschool GPA 3.3
Transfer student from a community college.

Accepted! International transfer but from Purdue. Anyway unbelievable! Gongras! Everyone!

When do we have to submit our deposit by?

May 15th is the deadline to enroll and pay or waive your deposit.

I got the “wait a bit more for your decision” e-mail.

Stats:
NC community college, 4.0, President’s list 4 semesters and running, Phi Theta Kappa
Non-traditional student (30 y.o., from abroad, moved from Russia 3 years ago)
Not a lot of ECs, mostly just work experience, plus greeter at my local church
Handful of glowing recommendation letters

NOW I’m nervous

@Arienrod I got the same email! Hope the result will come out tomorrow! I really don’t like waiting especially when other people have already knew their results…

First a new to-do popped up in my ConnectCarolina, and a minute later I got an email with an explanation - they asked me for more information on my education gap. I dropped out of my first college and worked for a few years, and there was no place to cohesively explain that on the application, unless I wanted to stretch out my essay (which I didn’t). In that regard NC State’s application is better - if there is a gap, it detects it automatically and provides a space for you to explain.
The email came directly from the honor code department, so I guess they were just afraid I was institutionalized or something, since, you know, we Russians are sketchy sketchy folk. OK, kinda hopeful now.

I GOT ACCEPTED!!! wooop

International student trasferring from 4-year institution
SAT 2080
GPA: 3.98
High School GPA: 4.0 unweighted
Applied for Economics major
Not that many extracurricular activities

Accepted for CS!! Anyone know when they post financial aid?

I don’t think financial aid will be posted for a few weeks. On the admissions website it says you can still submit the FAFSA and CSS.

Congrats to all accepted hs gpa = 2.9 college gpa = 3.9 sat = 2200 1st year transfer urm

Accepted for Exercise and Sport Science!

Stats:
Junior transfer from California CC, AS in Business Admin, PTK & ABG
CGPA: 3.7
HS GPA: 3.0 - top hs with connections to UNC
didn’t send SAT/ACT
strong recommendation

Extracurriculars: club leadership position and scholarship, school leadership/service award, relatable work and internship experience, volunteer with a few different non-profits
HS: 3x Varsity lacrosse (senior captain), band since 4th grade (pep band senior director), coached and reffed youth lacrosse

Essays were strong, personal and detailed. I related it back to my area of studies, explained why I didn’t do well my first year, what it taught me and how I have improved since, why Carolina - I want to go into sports business and they have a specific sports administration concentration, hopefully adding a minor in entrepreneurship or business, talked about my experiences from attending UNC sports games in CA - the community, pride, tradition - the opportunities to join the sports business club and getting involved within the athletic dept. and even mentioned a well-known professor/club advisor.

A few posters from the previous years have said this but here’s my take:
These transfer threads are very informative but it’s hard not to compare yourself to others. I doubted my resume a lot, which is actually pretty well-rounded, but I was still contemplating whether or not to apply the week applications were due (to save myself a potential rejection and $80 ahaha).
It’s great to see the different experiences and backgrounds from everyone to give yourself something to shoot for but do it your way. Luckily, I had great support from my siblings and friends who told me to go for it and offered to edit my essays. I wished I spent less time overthinking and more time on my application and essays because I rushed through that thing…(also never got the memo that they extended the due date).
So for all potential applicants: work hard, follow your passions and believe in yourself.

I’ll probably wait for financial aid, depending on when they send them, before I make a decision. It’s between UNC and a local Cal State. Not sure how the aid is for oos though…UNC would be a dream come true so it’ll be worth it, but the harsh reality is that debt it no joke.

Anyways, congrats to everyone who were admitted today and good luck to the waitlisters!
