It’s sad that there are so many highly-qualified in-state students that are not able to take advantage of this great university in their home state. Depending on where your child attended high school, that may have been the factor. My kids’ high school has a huge number of qualified applicants that seemingly all apply to UNC (even though many don’t plan to go there). It’s just done.
