Anyone know how hard it is to get into Kenan Flagler as a transfer? I know this is the first year they are having transfers as direct admits.
The past few years, decisions for transfers have come out the day after the email. This is how it was for me last year. Hopefully it is the same for y’all. And it has not always been a Friday for transfer decisions so keep in mind that it is possible that decisions could be tomorrow or Thursday. Good luck to everyone regardless! Ask away any questions after decisions are released because I went through the process last year.
@MaplePecanFrap I doubt they’d only send that email to people who got in, so if anything, they probably just haven’t reviewed your app yet
@MaplePecanFrap: Check your spam.
I’m happy for everyone who’s getting their decisions soon! I thought UNC did decisions in bulk, but just like with Stony Brook I’ll sit in purgatory ?
Quite difficult. Networking is an important factor for KF and as a transfer, you are at a disadvantage on that end. If you have high grades in the business prerequisites and interesting resume or “stand out” features to your application, you’ll really look good. You do video question interviews where you do not get multiple chances, so it is important to prepare very well for those. I do know some transfers in KF right now and some who transferred back to their old schools because they did not get into KF. @bknets
@srb2000 @Gatetransfer21 OMG i’m dumb lol. Yeah I’m west coast I was so confused for a second I thought I was reading wrong xD my bad
Do you think that it could be that only people who are denied are hearing back tomorrow? im scared lol
They release everything at once.
I can confirm that there is no correlation to being accepted and receiving that email on how to check decisions. Also, everyone receives their decision at the same time (denied or accepted) unless there is a separate problem with their application, such as missing materials.
@Mcunn226 are you positive? I thought so people received decisions later last year
but I just wonder why some people got the email and others didn’t
Guys we are ALMOST there. Let’s not have mental breakdowns now. Just a few days away
@bmcfmm246 it wouldn’t be fair if there was a correlation between accepted/denied and when you got the email. If all of your application items were in on time, you heard the same day as everyone else. Some people probably heard later due to problems with their application
I’m too hooked on this thread… I’m going to go drown myself in homework/hobbies till tomorrow. Good luck everyone! I hope we all get in!
Okay, I’m breaking down right now. Can’t wait to see the decision.
I’ve stated these things previously but I want everyone to be reminded as we approach decisions.
If you are accepted and the $200 enrollment fee would be a barrier to your enrollment, they offer a way for you to accept their offer of admission without paying. You will see an option stating “Defer payment for financial aid”. This means that you will not be responsible for paying the fee IF you applied for the FAFSA and know based on your EFC that you will receive some sort of financial aid from UNC. This option is NOT meant for students who did not apply for financial aid.
Also, I encourage those who know that they wish to attend UNC to enroll as quick as they can (of course after considering other options and financial aid packages) because registration for transfers for Fall ‘19 is traditionally about a week or so after transfers decisions come out. This is later than all other returning students’ registration dates. Returning student registration began today for seniors graduating in December and is April 10th for returning first year students (who will be sophomores in the fall). Last year when I transferred, I had planned to take a variety of courses and found great difficulty in enrolling in the ones I needed. Contacting the head of your major department can help you get into classes off waitlist. Gen Ed’s and gateway courses tend to go quickly and major courses are especially important for junior transfers. Luckily, transfers are giving up to an extra year beyond their initial expected graduations date to graduate.
If anyone has any transfer questions or Carolina questions in general, feel free to send me a message.
What could it mean if you did not get an email today? There is nothing on the to-do list that needs to be submitted.
@HSstudentNC how long did it take for financial aid to send you packages or scholarships after you enrolled into UNC?
@hbh2017 I would double check your spam. Make sure their email is set up to go through.
