I agree with twogirls.
Besides which it is quite late to look for an internship for this summer. If your D is really interested in doing that, do you have a local college or university she could contact on the off chance a professor is willing to work with a high school student?
Does your D believe she needs research before starting college in the fall? If so, that is not the case at all. I encourage her to spend her summer doing things she loves and perhaps a part time job.
