Underrated, relatively unknown Engineering schools

Arkansas Tech in Russellville, AR is an interesting one. I have traveled a lot around the state of Arkansas but it is a state that not a lot of people have been to. Nice place to go fishing and camping :)

The name of this school is a bit misleading, it is not an institute of technology, it is more of a regular university that offers only 2 Engineering majors: ME and EE.

It is a school that lacks any type of national reputation but it definitely does well regionally.

Surprisingly, there are quite a few schools with Colleges of Engineering in AR, not too bad for a state that is mostly rural:

University of Arkansas(Main Campus in Fayetteville), University of Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Harding University in Searcy and University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.

How does your DS like Olin? It’s a school we hear very little about.

@Gator88NE - DS really likes Olin. But it’s a niche fit… for most peopleit is too teeny/limited (under 350 students total), and very competitive admissions (10% accepted). . However the project oriented approach he enjoys can be found at other schools too. There is an Olin thread in Colleges section if you want to learn more.

@LeftWinger‌ I’ll be attending Michigan Tech this fall and they’re definitely out there, but good. You can’t get much more isolated than the UP.
