@whidbeyite2002 Columbia is ED only. @NascarFedex is correct – only HYP has REA, not ED.
Oops—You are right! I forgot that my daughter chose EA at Yale for that reason. I had it in my head that she EAed at Columbia. Mea culpa.
@Gojira02 , I am sorry about your experience. As a low-income high schooler from the Northeast, I had my own twist of fate, road-not-taken experience. Not quite like Yale or Princeton but still relevant.
I had applied to Cornell and to SUNY Binghamton. I slaved over a full scholarship application for Binghamton, hopeful that it would defray the cost of my education since my parents could pay nothing.
Around the time my acceptances rolled around, I called Binghamton about the scholarship and was told they never received my application! This event sealed my fate, and I attended Cornell.
I will never looked back. Attending Cornell led to 4 of the most rewarding years of my life, even when working 2 jobs to finish my education. Furthermore, a high school friend attended Binghamton, and it was a very good time to grow apart from her.
I am hopeful that Yale will reward you with 4 of the best years of your life. Wishing you the absolute best!
Thanks for sharing!
