I agree. One of the most interesting parts of reading the final decisions background thread (which I would highly recommend to the OP, not just this year’s but going back a couple years) is how extraordinary the “randomness” is. Almost every post I have ever seen - kids who get into “top” programs (whatever your definition of that may be) are NOT accepted at schools that “seem” farther down the pecking order.
