United States Naval Academy- VIQ

Treaty of Paris is very good. Its more of an anniversary type of place than a place to take a Mid, unless he’s a real foodie.

Navy2010 is right about steaks, you really need to go into DC and go to the Palm if you want an exceptional steak. There are a bunch of places in DC, but my favorite is the Palm, run by the same family that has owned the original Palm in NY since 1922. Its all a matter of tastes, other good steak places in DC are The Capital Grille, Smith and Wolensky’s, Morton’s, and the Caucus Room. There is a Ruth’s Chris and a Bobby Van’s but they aren’t as good as the ones I listed before them.

I can see Harry Browne’s being stuffy for a Mid. The two alums that took me there were Class of '62 and had retired from there second careers as CEOs after their first 20-30 years in the Navy. So for them it was comfortable and relaxed.

BTW, 2010, I’m still waiting for some suggestions of where to eat on Long Island. I’ve taken my Mid to all the steak places on Northern Blvd. But want something more interesting without having to go into Manhattan. He is a foodie, like his old man, so something out of the ordinary would be great.
