<p>If you are eligible for that one, the GPA requirement is a 3.0 rather than the traditional 3.5 for UCSD TAG. Regardless to which you apply for, neither guarantees major, just admission, but the Region X one has a lot more specific requirements on the time frame in which an eligible student can apply so be careful! </p>
<p>At this point, I haven’t heard from any people who have participated in Region X to know if the major acceptance rate might be higher (aka they receive a bit more major priority than regular TAG students). Personally, I would email your school and ask which is more preferential or if it doesn’t matter.</p>
