If they want to know, why don’t they get the acceptances out and see if the kid is interested? 
I sure appreciate schools whose regular admissions notification dates are before the mid-March to April dates. Heck, D heard from 2 Canadian universities and they are notoriously known to be later in notification. She heard from UO a week after applying back in September, that was the best. Sorry to vent, a bit tired (and edgy) of waiting on these last schools to get to the decision!
